"Oma-dome" is a  colloquial term and a weather superstition referring to Omaha,  Nebraska, and its perceived ability to deflect or lessen the impact of  snowstorms and other weather systems. It's essentially a humorous way of explaining why Omaha often seems to avoid severe weather compared to surrounding areas. While  it's rooted in the fact that Omaha experiences an urban heat island  effect, which can influence weather patterns, the
